Beyond the Boundary 02: NEKOMAMA!

I watched the second episode of Kyoukai no Kanata pretty late into the week due to school engagement (ugh!) but I totally wasn't disappointed when I finally got around to watch it yesterday. I was so excited to just sit down and relax and watch more light-hearted youkai-busting.

The episode begins with a scene showing Akihito's hands covered in blood and he screams, immediately followed by a continuation of the last episode, with Mirai struggling to fight the youkai that has been pestering her. Akihito tells her to stab the eye, because apparently that's where the core of a youkai is, so she follows this to some length. She seems to hesitate when she's almost going to, eventually missing her hits until she finally corners her with the help of her blood burning holes in the youkai's body wtf! She's still clumsy as usual though.

Akihito encourages Mirai to have the youkai she killed be appraised, to get money for her living expenses. Of course, the woman they go to has her certificate proving she does indeed know what she's doing. I found this to be silly and amusing.

The next parts felt more like the story adding it's own characters into the pot, with bits and pieces of backstory added to the mix. Despite that, many things are still very vague, which ultimately culminates into Mirai asking Akihito not to meddle in her issues anymore, as they eat together with Mirai paying. The most enjoyable part, personally, was the introduction of Akihito's mother...or should i say "nekomama"  through a post card a la Harry Potter, that warned him of danger. I think that took the win, well...really, between Mirai's badass fight scenes and that, I don't know which one I should pick :P

This series is posing to be one of the best of the season, and I can't wait for more episodes!
